About
About pages are difficult.
I don’t like to talk about myself. I like to listen, live vicariously.
I definitely don’t want to start at the beginning. I suppose I should start somewhat near the beginning, come to think about it. I lived in South Jersey until a few months before my 22nd birthday. I summered in the Chicago area throughout my teenage years hanging out with my dad, and in the Quantico, Virginia area while I was in college hanging out with some over-masculine father figures. As far as college goes, I went to Rutgers and Rowan, both in New Jersey, and escaped with a B.S. in Business Administration, concentrating in M.I.S.
While in my 20s I got married and had two beautiful daughters. Well, I didn’t have them, of course. But I helped with the blueprints.
I’ve been in the IT industry from the beginning. I was definitely a nerd from elementary school onward, skinny and defenseless, but luckily I lived authentically, and that kept me out of trouble. Got into computers then, working on my friends’ father’s PCs, got my own when I was a sophomore, and discovered the world of BBSing. From there, got into biology and genetics pretty hard, but decided to get back into computers after working in a genetics lab for a year.
Funny story, I probably should have stayed genetics. Turns out that I can’t achieve my other childhood dream of becoming an astronaut because you need to have a science or engineering degree. Goddammit.
Now I’m officially a C-level IT executive with a large amount of hands-on experience. Where to from here? Hard to say.
Good times.
