Homepage updates – contact form and technical resume

Today I worked on adding a contact form to the header menu and updating my technical resume. Like ALL OF YOU, I have my resume in Microsoft Word format, and converting it into non-bloated XHTML was time consuming. Yes, there are various utilities out there to help in the process, but I felt like going through and understanding my resume as I was paring it down. I like it, but it is definitely slanted towards development, and doesn’t get into the systems I’ve designed to host my applications.

The contact form is great — a standard WordPress plugin, but I’m very impressed. I’ve always admired alternate captchas and the simple math option is right up my alley.

Finally, working through my resume, getting it to be XHTML Strict, lead me to my videos pages. Not a big user of embedded Youtube videos, I hadn’t realized that they weren’t compliant. Thanks go to those who’ve done this in the past, because it was very simple to accomplish.
